New Flavours

Good catch up dinner with a friend from Wellington. Went to try this place on Dominion Road, Apadana Restaurant and Bar. Really nice and decent Mediterranean cuisine with a dash of Italian. Thanks to the Entertainment Voucher as usual, the meals were at a good price too.

Jojeh Kebab on Saffron Rice
Chicken pieces with interesting herb and spices. I'd finished the plate although it looked a lot of rice, but yea, it was that yummy.

Spaghetti Bolognese
Italian spaghetti which interesting Mediterranean flavours.

Although dinner was of a good portion, and we cleaned the plates, we ended up going for desserts at Deve's Bar and Bistro in Kingsland. I'd thought this place a pub kind of place, but turns out, it is a really nice western cafe and the food that looks good too. Should come back here again for dinner sometime. Anyways, used the 25% off voucher from the Entertainment Book here as well.

Panna Cotta with Orange and Ginger Salad
Rather interesting pudding, first bite was a little to "mushed" for me, but after a while, got used to the texture, and it was not bad. Didn't really like the orange with ginger peel though, not used to the taste. The wait staff described it being like a Crème brûlée, but when it arrived, I don't see Crème nor the brûlée, no crunchy caramelised sugar at all. Oh wells.

Chocolate Fondant with French Vanilla Ice Cream
Hot Chocolate pudding with melting chocolate insides on a crunchy chocolate outside. Best to be eaten with the ice cream.

All in all, a great night out of trying new food places. ^^
